Important Security Update

17 August 2021 - (17:00)

Dear Owners,

Unfortunately, last night 17th August we had three further attempted thefts, this time targeting hot tubs.  Our Security Team managed to intercept these attempts and most of the items taken have been recovered and reunited with owners.

As discussed in our previous communications, security measures have been enhanced, which for obvious reasons can’t be fully divulged. We are also working closely with the police, who have reassured us that an additional patrol unit will be assigned to the Kirkham area to further support the Security team.

There are a couple of enhanced Security Measures I would like to introduce and share with you. I sincerely hope you would agree that these are of benefit to you and The Village as a whole:

  • As of the 17 August 2021 neither the Sales Office or Security department will issue keys to non-approved contractors. An approved Ribby Hall Village contractor has to be checked against a set of competencies before they commence work. If you require work completing on your holiday home please either contact the Sales Office for a list of approved contractors or make your own arrangements to allow access for the non-approved contractor. Please note all contractors are still required to sign in at Sales whether approved or not.
  • To ensure only holiday home owned vehicles are within the Sales area of the Village,  the Sales Office will be making arrangements with you in due course to gain all up to date car registration numbers. This is a proactive control as we near the end of summer holidays and will further enhance the security function by highlighting non-resident vehicle registrations.

As per our last communications we need your help to combat these crimes by following the below steps:

  • Ensure your holiday home is secure before leaving The Village (over the last few weeks Security have found and secured several holiday homes with windows unlocked or left on vent, if targeted this would invalidate your insurance).
  • Do not leave any valuables on display within the holiday home or on the decking (Items such as inflatable hot tubs are high value targets that can be removed quickly and easily without having to enter your home).  If you do leave items of value on your decking please ensure they are secured to the property.
  • Ensure external storage units / sheds are secured
  • Report any suspicious activity to the security department immediately on 01772 674444  (please save this number into your telephone directory to allow for quick access).
  • Please ensure your Home-owner badge is visible in your parked car.

Also :

  • If you have an intruder alarm ensure it is activated when you are not at the property
  • If you have CCTV advise Security and please pass on any images captured
  • If you have any high value items at your holiday home which you feel could be targeted, please let security know
  • If you do not currently have an alarm, we strongly encourage you to purchase one.  The Sales office can organise this for you, please contact them on 01772 672222 if you would like a quotation.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for taking on board the advice given, securing your assets, investing in alarms and reporting suspicious activity.

We will continue to update you with any further developments.
