Before leaving the Village
Close and lock all doors and windows to your holiday home even if you are only going out for a few minutes. (Criminals will target a vulnerability or an easy option. Leaving your Holiday Homes with windows unlocked or on vent, would invalidate your insurance if targeted).
Do not leave any valuables on display within your holiday home or on the decking (Items such as inflatable hot tubs are high value targets that can be removed quickly and easily without having to enter your home).
Never leave car keys or ID documents in obvious places such as kitchens or hallways.
Ensure curtains are closed and if possible, lights are put on timer to create the illusion someone is in.
If you have an intruder alarm, ensure it is activated as you leave the property.
Ensure external storage units / sheds are secured.
Provide Sales with car registration numbers likely to visit / stay at your holiday home. You will receive a questionnaire over the coming days in the post to allow us to collect this information, please return to the Sales Office.
Going Away?
Avoid posting on social media your whereabouts, if posting ensure it isn’t set to share public and only to your friends.
Ensure curtains are closed and if possible, lights are put on timer to create the illusion someone is in.
Inform a trusted neighbour, the Sales Office or Security and ask they keep an eye on things for you.
Consider asking a neighbour (if they are known to you) to park their car on your drive overnight.
When on the Village
Please ensure your Home-owner badge is visible in your parked car.
Report any suspicious activity to the security department immediately on 01772 674444.
If you have CCTV please let the Security Team know (Confirm if you would be willing to share, if needed/requested any captured images).
Additional Security Measures available to you
If you do not currently have an alarm, we strongly encourage you to purchase one. Alarms such as Ramtech or BlackBox send immediate alerts to our Security team. The Sales office can organise this for you, please contact them if you would like a quotation on 01772 672222.
