Electricity Invoicing

12 May 2022 - (0:00)

Dear owner,

Further to our letter in November 2021 regarding the rising prices of Gas and Electricity which has impacted everyone, including our business, we are writing to provide a further update.

As we previously advised, the electricity supply contract for the Village renewed on the 1st of October 2021, saw an increase in commodity costs of more than 50%. The contract we entered into is a 3 year ‘flex-contract’ rather than a ‘fixed price contract’. This is to maximise any forward buying opportunities and reduce commodity costs where possible.

We have recently taken the May electricity meter readings, invoices for which have been sent out to owners last week, which have been recharged at the rate outlined in our November communication to you, which are as follows:

Pence per Kilowatt hour                                £0.215 ppKWh

Meter rental                                                 £2.76 (unchanged)

Availability charge                                        £0.13 (unchanged)

Please note our buy price per ppkWh was actually higher than the value we outlined to you, but we have honoured the price we set out in November 2021.

Due to the continued increase in price, the anticipated new rates which will be effective after this current invoice to the invoice in November 2022 are as follows: -

Pence per Kilowatt hour                                £0.33 ppKWh

Meter rental                                                 £2.76 (unchanged)

Availability charge                                        £0.13 (unchanged)

Please note, that we only re-charge the rates that we incur, we do not make any profit on the re-selling of commodities which is in line with the expectations of the National Caravan Council of which we are a member.

Finally, please be assured that we partner with a very experienced energy consultancy that will endeavour to forward purchase at the best available rates, and any reduction in costs will be passed on in turn to you.

Yours sincerely,

Diana Mcilwham
