Environmental Responsibility
Adhere to all environmental legislation
Minimise greenhouse gas emissions through an ongoing programme of energy-efficiency improvements
Deliver on our commitment to reach NetZero ahead of the 2050 legal obligation.
Promote the efficient use of resources by preventing waste and reducing consumption
Divert waste from landfill and minimise waste production by following the waste hierarchy: reduce, reuse, recycle.
Maintain, protect and promote biodiversity and the natural environment on the Village and across Lancashire
Ethical Responsibility
Create and sustain a strong local workforce by prioritising local recruitment, offering apprenticeships and training opportunities, and investing in skills development within the surrounding community.
Provide a safe working environment and promote a positive safety culture
Consider sustainability in the procurement of goods and services by encouraging the use of ethical, fair trade and sustainably sourced products
Philanthropic Responsibility
Support local charities and good causes, as well as community projects.
Enhance the well-being of the local community by providing access to green space, nature trails and playgrounds.
Promote financial, mental and physical health and wellbeing amongst employees, visitors and the local community
Support local businesses and the community by using local goods and services and promoting Lancashire tourism
Economic Responsibility
Promote sustainable travel by encouraging the use of public transport, regularly servicing vehicles and promoting electric vehicle use
Promote our commitment to sustainability and the environment to customers, the general public, employees, and the tourism industry, to encourage support for our initiatives and build brand loyalty.
Continually improve our environmental performance by reviewing new technologies and business practices.
Continually invest in maintaining, improving and introducing new facilities, for the benefit of our guests, local customers, and creating job opportunities in the local community.
Procure green electricity from 100% renewable sources, wind, hydro, and solar.
