 Ribby Hall Village is seeking a highly motivated, organised, and detail‑driven Ledger Clerk and Cashier to support our thriving Finance Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical accuracy, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to financial administration. 
 
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional self‑motivation and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective day‑to‑day running of the Finance team, contributing to essential financial processes and supporting wider business operations.

  • Should be educated to GCSE standard, including Maths and English 
  • Must have excellent numeracy skills 
  • Should have a high degree of integrity 
  • Must be able to work as part of a team 
  • Should have good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Have a good knowledge of accounting practices and PC skills including Microsoft tools 
  • Knowledge of working with an ERP system, i.e. Xledger, is desirable
  • Must have good attention to detail and be able to work under pressure  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Transactional level work on central ledgers, i.e. posting and matching of invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts. 
  • Scanning of invoices into the ledger system 
  • Assist the Ledger Supervisor with the monitoring & control of sales and purchase ledgers 
  • Assist with responding to business queries 
  • Assist with ongoing monitoring & reconciliation of ledgers 
  • Assist the Ledger Supervisor in reviewing business processes & making improvements to processes 
  • Filing of completed invoicing 
  • Control of the archiving of processed invoices 
  • Daily cash count 
  • Periodic review of safe and float balances around the village 
  • Control of central float 
  • Collation & organisation of weekly change orders
  • Ad hoc tasks as required by business demand 

 Please note, upon successful completion of the chosen candidates 6-month probationary period, there may be opportunity to work towards a professional accounting qualification as part of this role. 
 
Availability: 
The role is full time, offering 40 hours per week, in a department that operates 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
