Get the best bargain and book early; 2011 holidays at 2010 prices!

Posted on August 17th, 2010

Goodbye, au revoir and adios to the last minute bargain break.  Due to the recent recession it would seem that UK holiday giants have slashed their capacity for 2010/ 2011 meaning that cheap last minute holidays could be a thing of the past.

Many holiday-makers faced disappointment this year when they left their overseas holiday arrangements until last minute and found that holidays weren’t as cheap as they thought they were going to be.

Ribby Hall Village, an independent, award-winning 5-Star holiday village in rural Lancashire just ten minutes from the Blackpool seaside, has rallied and are offering 2011 holidays at 2010 prices for a limited period only, so booking early really will pay off.  If customers book a holiday before 5th September 2010, a 2011 break will start from only £10pp/pn!

As UK airports are set to announce strike dates for the end of Summer and another UK tour operator goes bust there is no better way to holiday than staying in the UK!  No matter which volcano erupts or who goes on strike, we will be open 365 days a year and guests can enjoy a great holiday at a great price.

UK holiday operators have reported that this year they have seen a surge in last minute bookings due to the lack of cheap last minute overseas breaks. It’s predicted that this will be the trend for 2011, so to guarantee that good value holiday we recommend booking sooner rather than later.

Charlotte Gili-Ross, Marketing Manager at Ribby Hall Village says, “Booking trends of recent years has seen people choosing where to holiday at the 11th hour, but this year it’s been even later than ever with people waiting for that last minute deal.  However, competition for the best deals is high and, with factors such as the ash cloud and the decline in last minute overseas offers, a lot of people chose to holiday in the UK.  We always recommend our guests book early to secure their preferred choice of accommodation and their preferred dates.  That’s why we’re offering guests 2011 holidays at 2010 prices.  Why take a chance on missing out on your ideal UK break? ”.

Clare and Archie McIntyre from Liverpool were visiting Ribby Hall Village for the third time with their four children, aged between six years and eight months.
“We booked quite far in advance as we have to come in the school holidays and it gets quite busy,” Mrs McIntyre says. “There was a discount for advance bookings and I think this place would get booked up quite quickly.”

Mrs McIntyre stayed in a Pine Lodge which is just one of several accommodation types that feature at Ribby Hall Village in addition to Self Catering Cottages, The Lodge and The Hotel. The Village also features fantastic facilities such as an equestrian centre, adult and family-fun swimming pool, boat and cycle hire, miniature golf, racquet sports, evening entertainment and much more…

To avoid disappointment customers must book their 2011 holiday before 5th September, to receive 2010 prices.

To book FREEPHONE 0800 085 1717 or visit www.ribbyhall.co.uk

Offer applies to all cottage accommodation excluding Pine lodges, The White House & The Coach House and is subject to availability.

BBC film crew descend on Ribby Hall Village

Posted on August 5th, 2010

A BBC Film crew arrived at Ribby Hall Village on Wednesday 4th August to interview the Managing Director of the Hoseasons Group, Geoff Cowley, about the surge in last minute UK holiday bookings. Whilst at The Village the BBC Film crew also spoke to families staying at Ribby Hall Village about their UK family holidays and booking trends.

Hoseasons chose Ribby Hall Village in which to do the filming as one of their flagship holiday Villages, he commented, “We have been working with Ribby Hall Village for over 13 years, they have great accommodation, great facilities and are in a great all round location, near Blackpool, Lancashire.”

The BBC wanted to interview Hoseasons on their report about a rise in last minute self catering holiday bookings, 22% of their bookings last month were for holidays in the next 7-14 days.

“In the last five years the industry has become used to people choosing where to holiday at the 11th hour, but this year it’s even later than that,” he said.

Our habits have changed as traditionally January was the busiest month for bookings.  Geoff Cowley cited that reasons for the change were due to distractions and factors including the snow in January, which meant more people were concerned with how to get to work than booking holidays, the general election, the emergency budget and the World Cup.  In addition it has been suggested that for 2010 the larger tour operators reduced their capacity, which has meant a decline in last minute overseas offers.

Also, the internet offers a variety of prices and offers every day for short breaks allowing people to book later than ever.  People tend to be more flexible and are not as concerned with exact dates and exact locations.  The UK holiday industry has adapted to this new trend by being flexible, offering superior year round attractions and great quality self catering accommodation at every level.  Plus, they offer customers greater flexibility when they book even up to 24 hours in advance, through the internet and call centres.

As an industry, operators at all levels are getting great feedback from holiday makers about how much they enjoy their UK holiday short breaks and the great service they are receiving.

Guests at Ribby hall Village said that they book around their children, with facilities and drive times being decision-makers.  Ribby Hall Village has definitely seen a steady increase in the number of last minute Blackpool bookings over recent years although repeat guests still book far in advance to ensure their preferred holiday accommodation type such as a specific pine lodge or self catering cottages.  In 2010 to date, Ribby Hall Village has received more last minute bookings than in any other year.

The programme airs on Friday 5th August 2010 on BBC1 between 6am and 8am.

Ribby Hall Village Launches Three New Eateries Enhancing Your Holiday Experience

Posted on July 23rd, 2010

Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire improves its restaurant offering with the launch of three new eateries; The Restaurant, Papa John’s and The Cafe-Bar. The eateries enhance the 5 star rating of the award-winning self catering holiday village and provide guests with more choice on their holidays.

On the 1st July 2010 Ribby Hall Village opened Papa John’s.  The world’s third largest pizza company has nearly 140 stores across the UK and has won the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association’s Pizza Delivery Chain of the Year Award in four of the last six years.  This is a rather special Papa John’s Pizzeria as it feels more like a restaurant than a takeaway outlet. There is a stylish seating area, a salad bar, and alcohol is served.  It is already proving to be a huge hit with guests.

The Restaurant at Ribby Hall Village is a new fine dining venture and will offer guests to the Village modern British food, excellent service in a relaxed and informal environment.  Headed up by Chef, Andrew Birch who has gained his knowledge through the kitchens of numerous AA Rosette and Michelin-Starred restaurants including Whatley Manor (4 AA Rosettes & 2 Michelin Stars), St Martins Hotel, Isles of Scilly (3 AA Rosettes, 1 Michelin Star) and for celebrity chefs Chris & James Tanner at Tanners Restaurant (2 AA Rosettes).

The Café-Bar offers guests fresh, well-presented and seasonal café bar favourites such as Salmon Fishcakes, Eggs Benedict and Salads and includes a children’s menu with regular offers.  The new lunch and evening menus are devised by new Head Chef, Jamie Green, along with consultant Michael Noonan.   Michael Noonan was Head Chef at Paul Heathcote’s 3 AA Rosette Longridge Restaurant for many years before becoming Group Head Chef overseeing all of Heathcote’s restaurants.   Michael will be launching the new restaurant at the multi-million pound Hotel & Spa development at Ribby Hall Village in Spring 2011 as well as overseeing all eateries on the Village.

Ribby Hall Village Goes for Gold in the Green Stakes

Posted on July 19th, 2010

Ribby Hall Village is taking part in the Green Tourism Business Scheme in order to judge the impact of the environmental improvements it has made so far and discover what needs to be done in the future.

Ribby Hall Village takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously and has made big improvements over the years by reducing the amount of energy used across the Village and increasing their recycling facilities so that less waste is sent to landfill sites. The Green Tourism Business Scheme will help the Village to look at every part of the business and see what it’s doing well and where it could do better.  Businesses that are part of Green Tourism are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of criteria covering a range of areas such as; energy and water efficiency; waste management; biodiversity and more. Based on its performance, Ribby Hall Village will then be graded Gold, Silver or Bronze.

The current network of members includes a wide range of business types, including, amongst others, accommodation providers, visitor attractions and corporations.  By joining a network like this and taking part in the assessments, Ribby Hall Village hopes to continue to improve its surroundings for future visitors and demonstrate how serious they are about looking after the environment in which we live in a way that is open, honest and will stand up to scrutiny.

The Village is being graded on the 11th August and is going for Gold (fingers crossed!). Watch this space…

He adds, “I couldn’t resist the offer to come to Ribby Hall Village, it’s a great opportunity to showcase my cooking which is constantly changing and adapting.  Paul Harrison and Paul Green have been incredibly supportive and I’m looking forward to bringing something new to the area, a fantastic dining experience serving good, honest, local food transformed into something really special.”
