Ribby Hall Village the popular Lancashire holiday village will this month be starring as the sponsors of ITVs Granada weather. The five different trailers which appear at either end of the weather will showcase this five-star holiday destination during the different seasons throughout the year; showing that it really is a great place for holidays 365 days a year, and whatever the weather.
Whilst other businesses have cut their spend on broadcast marketing Ribby Hall Village believe that this is the right strategy for the business in order to enhance brand awareness and for it to grow in 2011. The weather sponsorship follows on from the launch of the new Ribby Hall Village website in December 2010. The website and TV sponsorship are both new platforms for interaction with existing and new customers, which will also be supported by a direct marketing campaign and a new social media initiative giving customers a chance to win a holiday on Facebook.
After almost ten years of direct response TV advertising during the New Year period, Marketing Manager Charlotte Gili-Ross thought it was time to try something different and make a move away from traditional TV advertising in to sponsorship. ‘During 2010 our short breaks & holidays business remained strong, yet this success is never something we take for granted. The sponsorship of the weather is new territory, and we hope this will not only further enhance our brand awareness within the Granada region, we hope it will work hard to support our planned marketing campaigns for the first quarter of this year. One of our business objectives is to increase the volume of online bookings for our short breaks and holidays, and in addition to the sponsorship deal with ITV, our new-look website is far more interactive than in previous years and this is something we aim to build on over the next 12 months. The weather sponsorship can be seen seven days a week on ITV1.’
After a year of un-predictable travel in 2010 and further economic and financial un-certainty for 2011, holidays in the UK offer a safer option for this year and we are keen to show customers that the weather most definitely doesn’t stop play at Ribby Hall Village.
