Our commitment to the environment
At Ribby Hall Village, we are privileged to be surrounded by a beautiful environment, full of thriving wildlife. We are passionately committed to protecting our natural environment and supporting wildlife.
In 2008, we will be introducing recycling units into the kitchens of all our holiday cottages combined with a "green crusher" to crush aluminium cans, steel cans and plastic bottles. The recycling units will enable us to meet our objective to recycle 60% of all waste generated by the Village by the end of 2008.
The following are examples of how we’re protecting our natural environment and supporting wildlife:
Wildlife
- Creative use of landscaping
- Balancing parkland and formal gardens
- Providing bird boxes and feeders
- Maintaining ponds and lakes to encourage pond and wild fowl life
- Conserving trees and woodland
Park Resource Management
- Conservation of energy
- Limiting light pollution
- Waste-management and recycling
- Composting and re-use of materials
- Sympathetic approach to park-layout
- Buying locally wherever possible
People And Good Neighbours
- Minimising our impact on the surrounding countryside
- Regular daily litter patrols
- Encouraging our guests to use local visitor attractions
- Sharing our facilities with our local community
